At CF Studios we take extra care and attention in the making of each of our candles and diffusers to ensure we deliver a high-quality product our customers will enjoy. In order for you to get the best from your candle please read and follow the below advice.
Lighting your candle
it’s important to keep it lit until the whole surface is liquid wax, and ideally for 2-3 hours, on the first burn. This means that each time you light your candle after this the wax won’t ‘tunnel’ – leave wax around the edges or burn unevenly. We recommend that after the first burn you should try to keep your candle lit for a minimum of 1.5 to 2 hours, and never more than 4 hours each time.
Light your candle in a well-ventilated area, and where draughts and wind won’t disturb the flame. This will keep your flame nice and stable, allowing it to burn correctly and minimise any smoking.
Keep your wick trimmed to around 5mm and if it ‘mushrooms’ nip the top off. This helps control the size of the flame so as not to burn too fast. Mushrooming is a normal reaction to the burning, so trimming each time maintains the best performance for your candle.
Putting out your candle
To be safe, we recommend you use a snuffer to extinguish your candle — blowing it out can cause some of the wick to drop into the wax and slightly damage the wick.
Frosting
Great care is taken into hand-pouring the candles at the correct temperature (both for the wax and the jar).
Frosting in candles appears as though the wax is pulling away from the container sides and can appear over time in a candle. This does not affect the candles performance in any way, and is a completely normal “side effect” of using 100% natural plant-based waxes.
Candle Safety
Please do not leave your candles unattended, and placed away from drafts, children and pets. Candles should always be placed on a heat-resistant base and set on a level stable surface.
If soot forms on the inside of the jar, extinguish candle, wait for it to cool, then wipe with a damp cloth. Trim wick and relight.
Diffuser Care
Diffusers are a great alternative to scenting your space. To get the most out of your diffuser, ensure you are rotating your reeds (using gloves) at least every two weeks to speed up saturation rate and maintain a continued scent in your space.
Do not place your diffuser directly onto polished, painted, plastic or leather surfaces, or on electrical equipment. We advise not placing next to radiators – temperature increases diffusion and will shorten your diffusers life, reducing the scent release.
